Artist’s comments: “The movement and angles of the thoroughbred horses and the nerves and anticipation on the jockeys’ faces as they were led down to the course at Wetherby Races were the inspiration for this Watercolour. One of a series of paintings on horseracing that I painted fairly early on in my career, but still a favourite.”
