Artist's comments: “My horse of a lifetime, Atlas, painted in his field as he neared the end of his life. At the time he was 23 years old, had been retired for 3 years and was struggling with arthritis after a happy and active career. My way of coming to terms is to paint, and this boy was a constant muse for me in the 20 years together that we shared.”
